AKA 7, 2013-2021, acrylic on panels, each 8 x 8 inches
Originally these were concieved as a followup to the 2011/12 paintings, meant to be completed as a huge grid of 80 paintings but the idea was abandoned and the paintings more or less exist as 5 groups of 16 paintings each. The top painting used to be called "E. coli Sex" which, frankly, is a terrible name for anything. E. coli was shown as an individual painting but it always had this partner, an abstract painting resembling a men's button down shirt.
